DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENTSTEPHAN PETTINGERStephen Pettinger is a dynamic professional with a diverse background that bridges the realms of law and television production. Stephen graduated from The University of London and is a qualified English Barrister attending the prestigious Inns of Court School of Law, London. His journey into the television industry commenced with his training at the BBC, where he joined the production team of the critical consumer rights show "Watchdog with Anne Robinson." This launchpad led him to produce a range of successful legal and criminal-related shows, including "Value for Money," "Watchdog Healthcheck," and the flagship crime investigation show "Crimewatch UK," and its spin-off; "Crimewatch Daily, all airing on BBC1.
Stephen's global ventures began with a BBC documentary in Orlando, Florida, which ignited a passion for the American television landscape. He moved to New York City in 2008, and this transition saw him focus on US ventures, like the award-winning documentary "America Unchained," the critically acclaimed, "Tim Gunn's Guide to Style," the hit Fox show "Nanny 911," and the highly-rated "Wifeswap, USA" for ABC. One of Stephen's most remarkable achievements was developing and producing the first three seasons of the sleeper hit," American Pickers" on History. More recent endeavors include Executive Producing Jamie Oliver's "Dream School USA" and the long-running "Dr. K's Exotic Animal ER" for National Geographic. Recently, Stephen ventured into children's programming for the first time, with "Get Out of My Room" for NBC and the thought-provoking "Family Reboot" for Disney Plus. Stephen is currently dedicated to crafting innovative documentary and docu-series formats tailored for the UK and the USA, showcasing his unyielding commitment to quality storytelling and captivating content creation. |
